On November 13th, two powerhouse distribution and training companies united for a day of training and development in Leeds, led by award-winning aesthetic practitioner Dr Lee Walker.
DermaFocus and AESTHETICARE hosted the day for their faculty members, focusing on enhancing presentation and training delivery skills to elevate the standards of medical education in regenerative aesthetics.
The immersive programme empowered participants with essential tools and insights to not only become exceptional educators, but to also improve their engagement and empathy with trainees.
Dr Walker shared his insight on engagement, interactivity, and the ability to convey warmth and empathy through storytelling. Faculty members practised techniques with one another, reflected on their presentations through video reviews, and discussed how to strengthen their delivery through pitch, pace and pause.
A key focus was the art of simplification and relatability – qualities that allow complex medical information to resonate with any audience. By learning how to balance data and narrative effectively, attendees are now better equipped to make the learning experience of their training courses both informative and memorable.
Independent nurse prescriber and DermaFocus faculty member Frances Turner Traill said, “Thank you Dr Lee Walker and DermaFocus for a powerful experience in redefining my role as an educator in regenerative medicine. From storytelling techniques to self-reflection, we collaboratively explored how to communicate with warmth, empathy and clarity, qualities that make complex concepts truly resonate. I’m excited to take these tools forward, helping my students not only learn but connect with and be inspired by the material I share.”
Dr Raquel Amado and DermaFocus faculty member added, “Attending Dr Lee Walker’s session on public speaking and becoming a top-tier educator in medical aesthetics was nothing short of transformative. His insights seamlessly blended technical expertise with the art of impactful communication, inspiring us to not only elevate our practice but to empower others with confidence and clarity.”
Speaking of DermaFocus and AESTHETICARE’s initiative, Dr Walker said, “It’s great that companies are really beginning to invest in the development of faculty members, and this is the next step in the evolution of raising standards in the aesthetic industry.”
From DermaFocus, executive director Milad Bemana highlighted, “Investing in the development of our faculty means building a stronger community and a brighter future for medical education in regenerative aesthetic medicine. We aim to create a culture where our faculty thrives, so are passionate about advancing their knowledge to provide accessible, inspiring education. By supporting our faculty, we’re not only elevating today’s standards but also shaping the future leaders and innovations in the field.”
Rebecca Walton, commercial director of AESTHETICARE, added, "Our aim was to provide our valued faculty members with the support and resources they need to pursue their individual goals and aspirations, creating an environment that encourages personal growth and skill development. Through our collaboration with DermaFocus, we are building a strong foundation to elevate standards in medical aesthetic education. We are proud to support such an inspiring group. It was a fantastic day for everyone involved."
