Hydrafacial for Sun Damage

Regardless of age or skin type, everyone can suffer from skin damage due to the effects of sun exposure. UV rays cause fine lines and wrinkles, along with dark patches and generally aged skin.

Hydrafacial facial treatment can help reveal calm and clear, beautiful skin by removing dead cells, age spots and impurities. It is a quick and pain-free, non-invasive skin treatment for all skin types to address specific skin concerns.

Sun Damage

How Does Hydrafacial Treat Sun Damage?

In a six-step process, Hydrafacial will treat sun-damaged skin:

  • Detox: Uses lymphatic drainage to improve circulation and eliminate toxins

  • Deep Cleansing: Gentle exfoliation uncovers a new layer of skin

  • Extract and Hydrate: Painless yet powerful suction removes debris from pores and skin is nourished with intense moisturisers and hydrating serums

  • Glycolic and Salicylic Acid Peel: Vacuum suction and vortex technology push the acid peel into the deeper layers of the skin. Glycolic Acid brightens and sloughs off dead skin cells, whilst Salicylic Acid unclogs clogged pores

  • Fuse and Protect: Skin is saturated with antioxidants and peptides to maximise hydration and make skin glow

  • Rejuvenate: Red and infrared LED light is used to reduce redness and stimulate collagen

Your practitioner can also add personalised solutions to specifically address sun damage, giving you the most tailored and effective facial possible.

How Effective Is It Hydrafacial for Sun Damage?

Hydrafacial is a great solution for sun-damaged skin. Increasing cell turnover will encourage new skin growth that will be smooth and evenly pigmented.

Skin will be hydrated thanks to the antioxidants and peptides, leaving you with an enviable glow that lasts.

The patented Vortex delivery system used also allows for deeper exfoliation in less time, making it a really efficient treatment option!

If you have more severe sun damage, your practitioner may recommend a chemical peel or laser treatment. This could be in combination with a Hydrafacial and following a strict skincare regime is always recommended.

It's important to note that whilst Hydrafacial treatment won't completely remove pigmentation, it can help to lighten surface pigmentation with the addition of daily SPF and make the skin tone and texture more even but it does not use tyrosinase inhibitors (pigment regulatory ingredients) so it won't target pigment conditions like melasma or PIH or keep pigment gone long term.

How Often Should I Have HydraFacials for My Sun Damage?

Dark spots, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone caused by sun damage can be reduced with just a few Hydrafacial treatments. For the most effective results, you should book a course of at least six to eight treatments.

Depending on the severity of your sun damage, your practitioner will advise what’s best and how often you should have a maintenance Hydrafacial to ensure keep your skin looking great.

To avoid further sun damage, daily sunscreen use is an absolute must. Wear a hat and stay in the shade whenever possible too!

It’s also advised to cleanse and moisturise your face daily, as well as exfoliate once a week. A balanced diet with plenty of water can also make a huge difference to your skin and, if you’re a smoker, get a plan in place to quit now before causing more damage. Most practitioners would recommend using tyrosinase inhibitors (pigment regulators) for long-term control of pigmentation.

How Much Will It Cost?

Usually £95-£220, depending on your location and the experience of your practitioner. Courses of Hydrafacial will generally work out cheaper, speak to your practitioner who will be able to come up with a skin health treatment plan for you.
