This combination of superficial peeling agents, originally formulated and pioneered by Dr. Max Jessner, has been used by practitioners for a number of years. Can be compounded by a pharmacy or there are a number of branded peel products which use this recipe or a modified version of it.
Combines 14% Lactic acid, 14% salicylic acid and 14% resorcinol in an ethanol (alcohol) base.
(Some people are allergic to resorcinol, so because of that Jessner`s solution can be modified to exclude this component - this is referred to as Modified Jessner`s Solution).
Superficial peel, sometimes used prior to a medium depth peel.
It visibly diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smoothes and softens skin, increases hydration and suppleness, and balances irregular skin tones.
It can also be used safely and effectively on black and Asian skin.
Medical device.
Trained members of the medical profession only.
Varies according to the practitioner. Peel depth of penetration is controlled by the length of time the peel is used for and the amount of layers of solution used.
Erythema, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Should not be used on pregnant women or anyone with a known allergy to any of the components.
Depends on area treated, and the practitioner doing the treatment.
