Answer: Hello Anthony,

I am unaware of anyone using type B neurotoxin in the UK.

I am pretty confident that it is not approved for aesthetic treatments.

Is there any particular reason why you are looking for type B and not Type A ?

Have you ever tried Bocouture?

Warm Regards

Dr. Joseph Novoa Libermann

Answer: Hello Anthony

The only reason for using a Botulinum Toxin Type B would be when you don't respond anymore to Botulinum Toxin type A. Botulinum toxin B does not have a licence for treating the face or neck.
This last 18 moths 3 new toxin A's have been introduced to the UK Market. Nucevia, Alluzience and Letybo each has a different manufacturing process giving the toxin different characteristics.
Nucevia- more precision for natural results, Alluzience is very nippy yet great for no movement both available at our clinic in Edinburgh. Letybo is also available widely.
You may respond to any of these toxins.

Kind regards
Dr Victoria

Answer: Hello Anthony,

Type B botox is rarely used for cosmetic purposes, as Type A botox is usually effective at reducing lines caused by muscle contraction, excessive sweating or to slim the jaw.

Type B botox can be recommended in cases of resistance to Type A. However, cases of true resistance can be difficult to diagnose, so I would recommend that you have a comprehensive consultation with an experienced medical aesthetic practitioner, to determine the root cause of the suspected resistance to Type A.

Most cases of suspected resistance are caused by antibody formation to the proteins within the botox formulation, and not to the botox molecule itself. In these cases, an extended gap between treatments will reduce the production of the antibodies, and allow full effectiveness of the botox treatment once it is restarted.

If you would like to book a consultation to discuss this further, please use the booking link in my bio (TD Aesthetics clinic).

Warm regards
