Have you ever wanted to know more about miraDry?

Well, our Lead Aesthetician Justine had the treatment a year ago and this is what she thinks about it…

A lot of people have never heard of miraDry or suffered from hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), but as an aesthetic practitioner who not only performs the treatment but as someone who has suffered from the condition as well, I am more than familiar with both hyperhidrosis and miraDry.

What is miraDry?

miraDry is a quick, easy and relatively pain-free treatment that targets and eliminates the underarm sweat glands.

Coming from somebody who has suffered from hyperhidrosis, it is the dream treatment.

Not only is it a fairly short treatment, but the results are also instant and permanent.

Have you ever wanted to know more about miraDry?

How does it work?

The miraDry treatment involves a local anaesthetic which can sound scary but trust me, it is over in no time.

Once the underarms are numbed, the miraDry handpiece is placed against the armpit and activated to direct the energy to the region where the sweat glands reside.

There is a slight feeling of suction as the skin and glands are brought closer to the surface for maximum results.

Thermal energy is delivered and the sweat glands are eliminated.

At the same time, the handpiece cools the underarm which protects the skin and gives maximum comfort for you.

miraDry isn’t just a treatment

miraDry isn’t however, just a treatment for those who suffer from hyperhidrosis. It has wonderful benefits for everyone:

  • It’s a great way to stop the use of daily deodorant to lessen your carbon footprint
  • It is perfect for the avid gymgoer
  • It is perfect for those who have ever been nervous about a social event or job interview and made sure to wear a specific colour to avoid sweat patches…
  • Best of all? The results are permanent!

Results:

Since having my miraDry treatment, I have been amazed by the results. Even though I perform this treatment regularly, and have seen the positive impact on patients' lives, I wasn’t sure how well it would work on me personally.

I had a slight swelling and irritation post-treatment but was back to work the next day and could wear my bright blue uniform without having to worry about embarrassing sweat patches or odour.

I love the miraDry treatment and hearing my patient’s success stories.

I had performed and recommended the treatment for years, even before I started suffering from excessive sweating, but I can now completely relate to my patients and highly recommend the miraDry treatment.

It is only 90 minutes out of your day for a treatment that will stop you from worrying about sweat forever!
