Product Test: Flip Flop Ready Feet Thanks to NeoStrata

I said goodbye to dry, cracked heels in a week with Neostrata Problem Dry Skin Cream in personal product trial.

When the summer months finally arrive many women (and some men!) reach for the flip flops and sandals; but when you have unsightly and sometimes painfully dry and cracked heels, the temptation is to run away and hide and not let your ‘little piggies’ see the light of day.

I had just this problem and no amount of body butter application or pumicing my feet during ever shower and bath seemed to make the problem go away.

But now there is a solution, and not just one that was handed to me on a press release, but one which I tried myself and can ‘hand on heart’ say has changed the way I will ‘treat’ my feet forever!

Using NeoStrata Problem Dry Skin Cream I now have feet worthy of any Prince Charming and his glass slipper, (except that the cream is not able to shrink my feet to a more dainty size 3!!)

 Neostrata Problem Dry Skin Cream

Part of the Targeted Treatment category within the NeoStrata professional skincare range, which is made up of products designed to complement or boost a daily skin care regime through an intensive treatment targeted at a specific concern,  Problem Dry Skin Cream (100g) is made of up of a 20% hydroxy acid blend, maltobionic acid and pro-vitamin E. These active ingredients are delivered in a highly emollient carrier of beeswax and skin conditioning oils which instantly reduces dryness and nourishes the treated area whilst the actives get to work.

This fragrance-free, rich cream contains a high level of hydroxy acids (glycolic acid, lactic ccid and mandelic acid) to exfoliate severely dry, rough and thickened skin such as that found on the heels, knees and elbows. The product is also ideal for those people with scaling and flaking associated with hyperkeratosis (abnormal thickening of the outer layer of the skin) such as with psoriasis, and keratosis pillaris (rough, bumpy skin resembling permanent ‘goose bumps’).

It also contains gluconolactone which has skin conditioning properties. The molecules within gluconolactone are naturally attracted to water, so when it is applied to the skin, the molecules draw moisture out of the air and allow it to be absorbed by the skin. This property means that gluconolactone helps to soften and soothe dry skin, replenish lost moisture and forms a barrier on the skin, preventing further moisture loss through evaporation.

According to the manufacturers, significant improvement has been demonstrated in heavily calloused skin in as little as 3 weeks of once daily use of Neostrata Problem Dry Skin Cream. I would agree that this is a credible claim as I personally noticed a marked improvement in my moderately dry and cracked heels within a 1 week to 10 day  period, following application around the edge of my heels once a day.

Please take a look at my (non-scientific) before and after photos to see evidence of my own improvement.

I think you will agree, even my non-scientific test of this product has shown efficacy.

Within medical aesthetics, it’s all too easy to think that professional skincare ranges are only to be considered for anti-ageing, pigmentation or acne concerns on the face, neck and hands, but I think it’s worth all aesthetic practitioners taking a step back and remembering that when the summer months arrive and we all wear fewer items of clothing, other areas of the body are just as prone to environmental and ageing concerns which can also be addressed through the provision of certain professional ranges to the benefit and satisfaction of your clients.

As for my feet...there is no going back for me now. Bye bye to dry cracked heels and hello to touchably soft tootsies!

If you suffer from dry skin on your feet, which is both ugly to look at and can cause discomfort through cracking and bleeding, then I would highly recommend investing £35.00 (RRP) in this 100g pot of cream. Do seek advice on the regime and application from a NeoStrata trained skin specialist.
