Richard Young studied medicine at Oxford and Cambridge Universities. He started his Plastic Surgery training in 1998. He went on to complete specialist training in Hong Kong, London and Belgium working in some of the world’s most renowned hospitals such as Great Ormond Street, The Royal Marsden and The University Hospital, Gent. He was awarded the specialist fellowship in Plastic Surgery, FRCS (Plast), in 2007 and gained his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2008 with entry on to the GMC Specialist Plastic Surgery Register. The same year he was appointed as a Consultant in the Craniofacial Plastic Surgery Department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London where his NHS practice is still based. At Chelsea and Westminster Hospital he undertakes Craniofacial, facial and general plastic surgery. He has a special interest in facial reconstruction from birth defects, skin cancer and trauma. In addition to this he cares for patients with facial palsy. He is a core member of the Skin Cancer team and works closely with consultant colleagues in Oculoplastic Surgery, Maxillofacial surgery, ENT and Neurosurgery. He joined Mr. Norman Waterhouse at 55 Harley Street in 2010 where he has a special interest in facial and body cosmetic rejuvenation utilizing both non-surgical and surgical techniques.
