Winter skin has a lot to cope with. Cold temperatures outside combined with the dry heat of indoor heating are a recipe for disaster – drying out and damaging your skin.

So as the weather gets cooler, how can we get our skin primed and looking its best for the festive season?

Hydration, Hydration, Hydration!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – never underestimate the importance of a regular skincare regime, tailored to your skin’s needs.

Your skin is likely to become drier in the winter, so it’s so important to keep up with your routine.

Put the focus on hydration, to arm your skin against the changes in temperature, harsh winds, and drier climate of the colder months.

How Profhilo Can Help Give Winter Skin a Boost

Make sure you exfoliate regularly to remove dead cells – this will help your skin regenerate and keep, help prevent irritation and give you a brighter complexion.

Moisturise daily with a thick, hydrating cream that suits your skin type. Avoid using off-the-shelf products where possible, as these can contain harsh chemicals, which will make your skin even drier.

I think you know by now what I’m going to say next – keep using sunscreen!

Whether you’re indoors or outdoors, in winter or in summer, high-SPF sunscreen should always be a vital part of your skincare routine.

It protects the skin not only from UV radiation from the sun – but also things you might not have even thought about, like high-energy visible light from computer screens, which also damages our skin.

Don’t skimp on the SPF.

How Profhilo Can Help hydrate your skin

How Profhilo Can Help

Profhilo can be used to improve a variety of problem areas because it specifically targets your skin’s hydration.

It’s the perfect treatment for taking care of winter-damaged skin.

Profhilo injections use high concentrations of that magical ingredient – hyaluronic acid.

Naturally produced by our bodies, hyaluronic acids moisturise our skin from the inside out, increasing its elasticity and keeping it firm and healthy.

So when environmental factors, like winter sun exposure and indoor heating, dry out our skin, we need extra hyaluronic acid to keep our skin looking its best.

Profhilo injections place the hyaluronic acid exactly where it’s needed. Each procedure only takes about 30 minutes, and there is very little pain or discomfort. Of course, don’t forget the importance of finding an experienced, specifically trained medical professional to administer the injections. You want someone who understands the anatomy of the face and knows exactly what’s needed where.

After the treatment is done, there is next to no downtime – meaning your skin will have a natural radiance in good time for your special festive event, or just to give you a bit of a holiday glow to boost your confidence.

Why I Love Profhilo

Profhilo is one of my personal favourite treatments.

I have it done myself regularly, and recommend it to everyone – clients, friends and family! It’s such a painless and quick way of restoring the hydration your skin so desperately needs to stay healthy, and the results are subtle yet noticeable.

This treatment has so many benefits – it helps stimulate collagen and elastin production, remodels and tightens sagging and ageing skin, and just generally gives you a natural improvement to your complexion.

How to hydrate your skin

It will help with fine lines, skin tone, texture, and even pore size.

You’ll feel refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to see the New Year looking your best.

You can usually begin to see an improvement after the very first appointment – but I personally think this is the sort of treatment you’ll come back for over and over again because of the difference you’ll see in your skin!
