Age, child-bearing and breast-feeding, as well as genetic predisposition and the size and shape of a woman’s breasts can all lead to sagging of the breast tissue over time, not helped by gravity or inadequate support of the breasts over time. Breast lifting procedures seek to raise the breast back to a more attractive position, often bringing the nipple or areola back to a more central position whereby it no longer points downwards. Lifting procedures can also be combined with breast reduction and breast enhancement or augmentation operations.
A breast lift or Mastopexy can improve the appearance of the breasts in several ways. It raises the breast tissue, repositions the nipple and areola and enhances breast shape.
Thread lift uses free floating cogged (barbed) or smooth sutures for lifting sagging tissue in the face and neck. It is marketed as APTOS Thread Lift, Contour Lift, Silhouette Soft, Scarless Suture Lift & Feather Lift.
The use of 24 karat gold threads for skin rejuvenation is also marketed as gold filament rejuvenation. Brands of gold threads used in the UK, include SkinGold and GoldThread.
Silhouette Soft is marketed as a ‘non-surgical face lift’, a ‘one-stitch face lift’ or ‘puppet face lift’, the treatment is based on suture suspension with cones which are used in both reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery.
