Professor Christopher Griffiths is a globally recognised leader in dermatology with a distinguished career spanning clinical care, research, and education. He is Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at King’s College London, Consultant Dermatologist at King’s College Hospital, and Emeritus Professor of Dermatology at the University of Manchester.

Professor Griffiths has made major contributions to our understanding of psoriasis, helping to establish it as an immune-mediated disease, and leads major research programmes such as the MRC Stratified Medicine Consortium on psoriasis (PSORT). He also played a key role in the development of topical treatments for photoaged skin, and his research has contributed to the formulation of products in the Boots No.7 skincare range.

Leadership & Recognition:
He founded both the Manchester Centre for Dermatological Research and the Manchester Psoriasis Service, and has served as President of multiple major dermatology organisations including the British Association of Dermatologists, European Dermatology Forum, and International Psoriasis Council, which he co-founded.

Professor Griffiths is the Editor-in-Chief of Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology, and is the third most cited dermatologist globally. He was awarded an OBE in 2018 for services to dermatology and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and an NIHR Emeritus Senior Investigator.

Global & Charitable Work:
He is active in global dermatology initiatives, co-founding the Burma Skincare Initiative and directing the Global Psoriasis Atlas, a worldwide project to map and understand the burden of psoriasis.
