Skin Crime 1: Not Wearing Your Spf 365 Days of the Year

Even though sun exposure is vital for overall health, immunity (we get Vitamin D from sun exposure) and well-being, soaking up the sun can be good for us. But too much exposure can increase the risk of skin cancer and premature ageing.

So do we really need to wear sunscreen on cold or dull days?

The answer is Yes, you should wear sunscreen every day on exposed areas of skin when outside because you are constantly bombarded with UV radiation. UV radiation penetrates through the clouds, so wear sunscreen even when the sun isn’t shining. If you don’t you are going to accumulate damage to your skin which could lead to developing cancerous lesions later in life

If you are sunbathing you should reapply your sunscreen every 2 hours. It doesn’t matter what your skin tone is, you need to be wearing sunscreen.

If you have a darker skin tone don’t think for one second you don’t need protection… this a myth!

You do.

UV radiation can cause severe damage even to darker skin.
