The First Dentist in the UK to Pass the BCAM Masters Degree

I am the Medical Director and Founder of 'The Medi-Shed by Dr Dil a Skin Health and Wellness Clinic in Battersea. Wandsworth London.

I am delighted to share with you all that I have passed the MBCAM Examination to become a Full Member of The British College of Aesthetic Medicine - A Master's degree - for which I'm the first dentist in the UK to achieve!! It's an absolute career highlight for me, so I wanted to share my news with you all.

I took this two-part exam and studied for it in order to achieve the highest standards of aesthetic practice for my patients - This qualification will elevate my practice especially with us moving to our new clinic soon at 81 Nightingale Lane, SW12 8NX.

(I'm so happy that I will never have to do another exam!)

Professional integrity is central to my approach – I only ever give treatments that I believe will help you - the patient - both for your appearance and well-being... and in order to be able to do that I am committed to lifelong education in this field of medicine.

What is BCAM?

The British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM) exists to advance safe and ethical aesthetic medicine for the benefit of medical practitioners and members of the public. They represent doctors and dentists in a unified manner, protecting their interests, promoting high standards of patient care and working with the government to improve regulation in the aesthetic medicine sector.

BCAM was founded in 2001 by some of the pioneers of aesthetic medicine and continues to represent members who are innovators in the field. The College puts patient care at its heart and campaigns for government regulation of aesthetic treatments such as medical devices, injectables and botulinum toxin.

The UK is the only country in the world that does not regulate aesthetic treatments, putting patients at huge risk. This is why we are seeing an epidemic of complications and botched treatments in the UK. I find this extremely worrying especially for the younger generation who may be less risk averse, not research their practitioner effectively and can be influenced by trends on social media. By choosing a BCAM member, you can be reassured you are being treated by a healthcare professional with years of medical training and experience with the clinics using safe licensed products.

 

All BCAM members are:

  • Are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) or General Dental Council (GDC) with a licence to practice

  • Must meet the stringent requirements of the College to gain and retain their membership

  • Must attend regular educational and scientific meetings
