Micropigmentation can simply be described as minute particles of coloured pigment being placed mechanically below the surface of the skin. This treatment can be used in a medical capacity to correct scarred or discoloured skin following accident, surgery or disease, such as the recreation of an areola (the brown area surrounding the nipple) following reconstructive surgery for breast cancer. Depending on the area being treated, and your tolerance of pain, an anaesthetic cream may be applied first to help reduce any pain. A very fine needle is then used to place pigment into the skin at a very high speed via a small hand held electrical device. Micropigmentation can be compared to having a tattoo as the new pigment or colour is deposited in the dermal layer of the skin, just below the surface. You can return to work and normal activities immediately after a treatment. The cost of micropigmentation can vary considerably with recreation of the areola costing approximately £500 per breast.

Micropigmentation for Facial Skin Graft after surgery.

Hi I am looking to get micropigmentation on my facial skin graft. I had mandibular flap reconstruction in Feb 2024 due to a cancer diagnosis and have been recovering ever since. Due to the removal of my cancer and after my surgery I have a patch of leg skin grafted to my facial chin area. As this is from my leg it has a white appearance compared to the rest of my face and this needs to be addressed, mocropigmentation might be the answer. I have checked in Ireland and this procedure is not done here so I am happy to travel to the UK to a reputable recommended clinic if advised. Can you please advise, thanks Rory Campbell

"Extremely happy with various treatments of botox and fillers I have received over the year. I have been using Obagi skin care with ongoing advise I trust and value.
My skin has improved dramatically and the results are incredible. I would not go to anyone else and I feelbetter about myself after every visit.
Fabulous and excellant professional service"

"My son started losing his hair in his late teens which really knocked his confidence. We looked into hair transplant surgery for him but were told that because of his age it was un advisable to have this type of procedure, he is now 22, as he did not have a stable donor area and would be likely to experience further hair loss. We did some research on the internet and found out about scalp micro-pigmentation. We booked a consultation with HAIR ink. in London and from the moment we met with Anouska she immediately put our son at ease. She was exceptionally knowledgeable and didn't just tell us all what we wanted to hear, but was very open and honest about what could be realistically achieved with scalp micro-pigmentation. It’s been 4 months since our son has completed his treatment and the transformation has been amazing. Not just in his appearance, he has stopped wearing caps and hats, but his confidence has returned. He is generally a lot happier and has started going for nights out with his friends more frequently. This treatment has been money very well spent."

"I’ve had a receding hairline for a number of years and probably look far older that my age. I looked into having a hair transplant, but it was too expensive so last year I decided to shave my hair down and have scalp micro-pigmentation. I told my mates I was having this done and got the obvious mickey taking, but when they saw me after I had it done they were all really shocked about how good it looks. Exceptionally pleased with the results and can’t recommend this enough to anyone who is balding and wants a shaved down look. Alex"
