Dr Munir Somji and Dr Tino Solomon have launched a new medical aesthetics training academy in London, aimed at providing evidence-based, practical education for medical professionals. The academy is designed to offer a more hands-on, case-based approach compared with traditional lecture-heavy training, with the goal of equipping delegates to safely and effectively apply their learning in clinical practice.
The academy was first conceived in 2019 in response to demand from doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals for practical, patient-focused training. Since then, it has evolved into a structured programme supported by experienced trainers and aligned with international standards in medical aesthetics.
Training Approach
The programme emphasises multi-modal learning, integrating injectables, chemical treatments, and energy-based devices. Delegates gain experience in comprehensive patient assessment, treatment planning, and hands-on procedures under supervision. Key areas of focus include:
Injection techniques for facial rejuvenation and contouring
Safe use of dermal fillers, neuromodulators, and other injectable treatments
Chemical treatments, including peels and skin resurfacing
Energy-based devices such as radiofrequency and laser
Case-based learning to develop clinical judgement
Recognition and management of potential complications
Courses are offered in both one-day and two-day formats, providing flexibility depending on participants’ professional needs and experience levels. Training sessions include live demonstrations, followed by supervised hands-on practice.
Course Accreditation and Eligibility
The DRMS Academy programme is CPD-accredited, allowing delegates to earn recognised Continuing Professional Development points. Applicants must be qualified medical professionals with at least one year of post-qualification clinical experience.
New Course Offering: Advanced Botulinum Toxin & Fillers
A one-day course focused on advanced botulinum toxin and filler techniques is available for practitioners with prior basic experience. The course covers consultation, injection techniques, treatment planning, and specialist applications, such as treating hyperhidrosis. Delegates complete supervised practical sessions and gain guidance on patient assessment, aftercare, and safety protocols.
