The British Association of Sclerotherapists (BAS) Board and membership are sad to say goodbye to Dr Martyn King, well known in the Aesthetics arena, who has served as a member of the BAS Board for over 15 years, Treasurer since 2016 and Chair for the past 2 years. He has stepped down due to conflicting commitments. Martyn’s contribution to the BAS has been immense, and we will miss his incisive input, guidance and commercial acumen. We wish him every success in the future.
Mr Alastair Lewis, who has been a member of the BAS Board for the past 2 years, has been appointed Chair. Alastair is a leading minimally invasive venous surgeon who specialises exclusively in the treatment of varicose veins. He works in full time private practice mainly based in Belfast and Dublin. He is an expert in the non-surgical management of varicose veins and thread veins with EVLT, radiofrequency ablation of veins, foam sclerotherapy and microsclerotherapy.
We welcome back to the Board Dr Haroun Gajraj, phebologist and medical practice growth strategist. He was a founder member of the British Association of Sclerotherapists and served for several years on the Board. His skills include content marketing, and his energy and dynamic style promise to re-invigorate the Association. Haroun is a passionate advocate of the benefits of sclerotherapy and he’s keen ensure that the vast expertise within the BAS is shared throughout the vascular and aesthetics communities.
