4T Medical Launches New PRF Kit and Bio-Filler Gel Device

4T Medical Launches New PRF Kit and Bio-Filler Gel Device

The new products expand 4T Medical’s regenerative aesthetics offering, giving practitioners the equipment and consumables needed to prepare platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and autologous bio-filler.

4T Medical has expanded its regenerative aesthetics portfolio with the launch of a new PRF Kit and Bio-Filler Gel Device. The products are designed to support practitioners preparing blood-derived materials for use in regenerative aesthetic procedures.

The PRF Kit contains sterile consumables for blood collection, centrifugation and PRF preparation. When used alongside the Bio-Filler Gel Device and a compatible centrifuge, it can also support the preparation of autologous bio-filler.

The products are available to order directly from 4T Medical.

What is platelet-rich fibrin (PRF)?

Platelet-rich fibrin is a blood-derived preparation produced from a patient's own blood. Unlike platelet-rich plasma (PRP), conventional PRF preparation does not use anticoagulants, allowing a fibrin matrix to form during processing.

This matrix contains platelets, leukocytes and growth factors. The fibrin structure can influence how these components are retained and released over time, which has contributed to interest in PRF within regenerative medicine and aesthetic practice.

PRF is being explored for applications including skin quality improvement and tissue repair. However, clinical outcomes can vary depending on the preparation method, treatment area and protocol used. Practitioners should consider the available evidence for the specific application they intend to offer.

For further background, see the published literature available through PubMed's PRF research database.

The 4T Medical PRF Kit

The new 4T Medical PRF Kit contains the sterile consumables required for blood collection, centrifugation and PRF preparation.

The kit is designed to support practitioners incorporating PRF into their existing clinical services. It can also be used as part of the preparation process for autologous bio-filler, provided the required compatible equipment is available.

The manufacturer states that the kit contains no anticoagulants, additives or separation gel in its sterile tubes, allowing natural coagulation and fibrin matrix formation.

A compatible centrifuge is required and is not included with the kit. Practitioners intending to prepare bio-filler will also need the Bio-Filler Gel Device.

Preparing autologous bio-filler

The launch also introduces the 4T Medical Bio-Filler Gel Device, designed to heat platelet-poor plasma (PPP) to produce an albumin gel.

The preparation process involves heating the PPP under controlled conditions, then cooling the resulting gel before combining it with injectable PRF (i-PRF). The resulting material is known as autologous bio-filler, or Alb-PRF.

Because the material is derived from the patient's own blood, it differs from conventional synthetic dermal fillers. It is intended to provide temporary volume, with the material gradually broken down and reabsorbed by the body.

Potential applications described by 4T Medical include the tear troughs, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheeks and temporal hollows. Suitability depends on the individual patient, the intended treatment area and the practitioner's assessment.

The manufacturer also describes potential benefits for skin quality. These should be considered in light of the evidence available for the particular preparation and indication, rather than assumed for every patient.

What should practitioners consider?

The introduction of new equipment and blood-derived preparations provides an opportunity for clinics to review their regenerative aesthetics offering. However, practitioners should consider more than the equipment itself before introducing a new procedure.

Relevant considerations include:

  • Training and competence: Practitioners should have appropriate training in blood collection, preparation techniques, injection anatomy and the management of complications.

  • Patient selection: A thorough consultation should establish the patient's medical history, suitability, expectations and potential contraindications.

  • Evidence and consent: Patients should receive balanced information about expected outcomes, limitations, alternatives and risks.

  • Equipment and protocols: Clinics should follow the manufacturer's instructions and maintain appropriate infection prevention, handling and traceability procedures.

  • Follow-up and complications: Appropriate aftercare arrangements and pathways for managing adverse events should be in place.

The General Medical Council's guidance on cosmetic interventions provides further information for doctors on consent, working within competence, patient safety and responsible marketing. Practitioners should also follow the requirements of their own regulator and professional body.

4T Medical's latest product launch

Julien Tordjmann, Managing Director at 4T Medical, commented:

“We’ve seen a real increase in interest in PRF and regenerative aesthetics. Adding bio-filler was a natural next step for us and gives practitioners already offering PRF another treatment option for their patients.”

The launch reflects growing interest in blood-derived preparations within regenerative aesthetics, as practitioners explore alternatives and additions to established injectable treatments.

However, the evidence base for autologous bio-fillers continues to develop. A recent systematic review of autologous bio-fillers in aesthetic and regenerative medicine highlights the need to consider differences in preparation methods, clinical indications and reported outcomes when interpreting the available literature.
