The BACN is the largest Professional Association for nurses carrying out medical aesthetic treatments in the UK. It operates under a strict Code of Conduct in order to ensure patient safety across all treatments undertaken by its members.
The BACN has a dual role:
The purpose and ethos of the BACN have remained true since its establishment in 2009 – it is an organisation developed by nurses, governed by nurses, and provides services required by nurses to prevent working in isolation.
At its heart, it is an ‘ethical association’ there for its members, but equally has a major contribution to make in terms of improving and enhancing the reputation of the speciality and the patient experience. With core values of best practice and patient safety, the BACN provides a range of services and member benefits that meet member requirements and provides the opportunity for nurses to deliver the highest quality of safe service to the public.
The BACN maintains a Management Committee who serve on a governing body, a HQ team of administrative professionals, and is supported by many Regional Leaders, who act as ambassadors for their local community up and down the UK.
The BACN is a ‘Not for Profit’ organisation owned by its Members and its Board is elected on an Annual Cycle.
