Thank you for contacting us via Consulting Room.
I understand you are interested in a mole check. We have two consultants available for this with us, Mr David Gateley who is available Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons, and Miss Farida Ali who is available some Thursday evenings, both priced at £100.

Answer: Hi Alison, I would primarily get this checked by your GP. If there is anything of concern then it can be dealt with via the NHS. If it’s purely cosmetic then it can be removed using a variety of techniques. Good luck Sarah - Finesse Skin Clinic

Dr Fatima Ahmed

Answer: Hello,

Thank you for your email enquiry.

We are an advanced skin care clinic where we specialise in lesion and mole removal. Our Doctor Fatima Ahmed who specialises in dermatology would see you for a consultation first, during which she will thoroughly assess the mole, offer a test patch with the laser used and give you advice regarding removal. It may be necessary to offer a biopsy if there is any concern regarding a mole before removal, always ensuring your safety is our priority. This is a service we offer in the clinic. The sample is then sent to the Spire Alexandra Hospital for a full histopathology report.

Mole Removal is becoming a popular procedure because the NHS has reduced the amount of procedures they will carry out. Laser removal is a safe and effective procedure that is quick with fantastic results and with minimal, if any, scarring. A local anaesthetic will be administered prior to removal, making your appointment painless. We can then remove your mole quickly and accurately with our Er. Yag Laser. A small white mark is all that is usually left but a small scar may result. Generally, the area is left unmarked and clear within about two weeks.

The costs are as follows:
Consultation: £165.00 (£50 deposit payable upon booking)
Consultation under 18 £95.00 (£50 deposit payable upon booking)
Biopsy (if needed): from £160
Removal: from £250
Please note that a personal quote will be given to you at consultation.

If you have any further questions or would like to book in your consultation, please feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to help.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Karen Johnson

The Chilgrove Clinic

Answer: Hello Alison, thank you for your question; sorry to hear that you have concerns regarding a mole. Since we are not a dermatology clinic, and therefore not in a position to diagnose moles, we would suggest that you either seek the help of your GP practice, or look for a clinic that has a qualified dermatologist on their staff. Sorry that we can't help you on this occasion, but I wish you well in finding a correct diagnosis. If you are in the Sussex area, I can refer you to an excellent dermatology clinic with whom we have an affiliation. I have referred several clients to this clinic, all of whom have received exceptional care, and were pleased that they had seen a dermatologist who was able to diagnose and treat their moles. Just look for our listing on the Consulting Room portal, get in touch, and I will be pleased to give you further information regarding this.

With very best wishes,

Karen Johnson, Senior Practitioner
