The General Dental Council (GDC) has today prosecuted a woman in Liverpool for illegal activity relating to tooth whitening that has left an eighteen year old victim with permanent teeth and gum damage, as well as the expected loss of two lower front teeth. Ms Cheryl Roberts was found guilty at Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates’ Court and fined £660. The judge also ordered her to pay £2000 to the victim and the GDC’s costs of £1000. Matthew and John Hargreaves admitted participating in a fraudulent business, while Jean Hargreaves admitted engaging in an unfair commercial practice.
