Mene & Moy ® Peels

Mene & Moy Product Range

Product Summary

Mene & Moy chemical peels are a medical peel and can only be carried out by trained doctors and nurses. They are not available in the high street and should not be confused with very mild and gentle glycolic peels available from beauty therapists.

The Mene & Moy skincare range which accompany the peel products as part of an at-home treatment programme contain powerful concentrations of vitamin C (collagen and elastin stimulators), phytic acid (stabilises melanin - skin pigment) and glycolic acid (exfoliates) combined with soothing and nourishing chamomile, vitamins E and A, shea butter, orchid oils and bisabolol (an anti-irritant derived from chamomile) to achieve well tolerated, effective anti-ageing skin creams.

Peels not to be used in

Pregnant/breastfeeding women or those already on a chemical peeling or laser skin rejuvenation programme, or using retinol products.

Recent scarring, depilation (hair removal) and sun burn are also not suitable for chemical peel treatment, along with skin infections such as herpes.

Peel program

It is advised to use home treatment products containing glycolic acid for at least 10 to 15 days before the start of the professional peeling treatment. This will generate a preliminary skin exfoliation and will enable the practitioner to evaluate the skin`s tolerance to glycolic acid.

It is recommended that a course of 6 to 8 peels is undertaken, spaced by 12 to 15 days.

Thereafter, with most peel products repeat treatments will be required to maintain the appearance of the skin.

Reported side effects

Your practitioner will discuss any potential side effects in a consultation.

Costs

This depends on the area treated, the peel product used and how much is required, as well as the practitioner doing the treatment, but ranges are in the region of £70 to £100 per treatment session for a glycolic peel, with a course of 6 treatments costing approximately £500.00.
