What Should I Look For in Skincare Products? (Part 1)
If you could wave a magic wand and turn back time, what would you do? I would definitely, without a doubt, have ever, gone on a sunbed, or indeed been any kind of sun worshipper.
It's easy to say that but for me, it's serious. I mean who wants to spend the rest of their 30s and 40s fighting the ravages of sun damage over and above the cost of doing so..well, it's time consuming as well!
Luckily there are procedures out there and some of them actually work and that includes skincare.
For me, one of the things I saw a great result with was botulinum toxins and fillers not to be confused with the over-use of them! Most people prefer the more subtle look and the question of "has she, hasn't she" is much better than the "I know what she's had done"!
That's where a good skincare regime comes in.
Look for skincare with clinical trials that show the products actually enter the skin, skincare that sits on top (apart from sunscreens) do very little and there are a variety of ingredients out there that claim to do something. Look for something that is in a topical form and that is already in our skin: L-Ascorbic acid and Growth Factors to name a few.
That's it for now, but join me as I expand on the different skincare ingredients in future blogs!
Tracey Beesley
Tracey Beesleys fascination with skincare was born originally from her own sun worshipping skin woes and more specifically her days living and working in Los Angeles, California where she became aware of the extensive aesthetics industry and the use of Cosmeceutical skincare products as a normal skincare regime. But her relentless search for products that really do deliver results led her and her husband David to set up a Cosmeceutical distribution business which has become highly successful over the past eight years. Her business background in advertising, management and extensive skincare knowledge gleaned over the last eight years, has helped SkinBrands to find brands that resonate with todays beauty savvy women. Since bringing SkinCeuticals to the UK in 2003, Tracey and David have helped forge the cosmeceutical market in the UK.

I agree whole-heartedly with Tracey. I use some of the wide range of superior products Tracey distributes and wouldn't use anything else now. I've never been a sun worshiper so that's obviously helped, but everyone is surprised when I tell them my age. They always say I look at least 10 years younger than I actualy am (maybe they're just being kind to an old person). I swear by my daily dose of L-Ascorbic acid and work on the 'foundations', using topicals that acually penetrate at a deeper level plus an SPF30 to protect. Looking forward to hearing more ...
